What’s Your Website pScore?

Your Website Pulse Score (pScore) is a ranking of your website’s marketability.  The Website pScore focuses on the fundamentals of Internet marketing that gives your website a pulse. We run a proprietary diagnostic algorithm to determine the current marketability of a website.  It takes into account key marketing elements: domain age, indexed pages, Google Page Rank, backlinks and others.  Scoring ranges from 1 to 100.  The closer a website ranks to 100 the more marketable the website.

Why is your Website pScore important?

The Website pScore identifies the areas where your website marketing is weak.  It provides a simple ranking so you know where you're at and what you need to work on.  It focuses on two key areas of Internet marketing: indexed pages and backlinks.

Domain Age.  The age of your website domain is factored into search engine rankings.  Also, the longer your website has been around the more likely it is to be seen and linked to.

Google Page Rank. The Google PageRank results from Google’s determination of website relevance among all the other pages on the World Wide Web. A rank of 0 is bad.  A rank of 5 is considered very good.  Google itself has a ranking of 10.

Alexa Rank. The Alexa Rank is a ranking system which bases its ranking schema on the level of traffic each website receives from the number of people who visit a website with the Alexa toolbar installed.  The ranking starts at number 1 with Google, Yahoo and Myspace in the top three spots.

Indexed Pages. An indexed page is a web page from your website that is registered with a primary search engine and one that regularly gets indexed or “spidered.”  The more pages you have indexed the more your website becomes imbedded in search engine results.  To get a higher Google PageRank you need to have hundreds and even thousands of pages registered.

Backlinks. Backlinks are the number of websites who have a link back to the target site.  The quantity and quality of backlinks is an important element of search engine optimization.  We are looking for the number of backlinks in Google.

Backlink PageRank.   Websites generating backlinks have a PageRank.  The PageRank value of the group of backlinks is factored into the pScore.  We look at the PageRank of the website’s backlinks in Google.

Google Ranking.  A website’s ranking position in Google is factored into the pScore.  In particular we are looking to see if a website is ranked in the top 1,000 listings in a Google response page.

The Website pScore uses several other measurements and combines them to make the score.  However, indexed pages and backlinks are the keys.
